I am trained in multiple approaches to mental health therapy including psychodynamic, object relational, existential, and cognitive behavioral as a direct result of my rich and varied clinical experiences helping individuals, families, and couples.
Education
I received my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Mars Hill Graduate School in 2005 after 3 years of graduate studies. Prior to my graduate work, I attended Seattle Pacific University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Experience
During my undergraduate and graduate studies, I was fortunate to work with children, adults and families in various internship settings. These included working with K-6th grade students in a public school setting and counseling and guiding college age students at Seattle Pacific University's Student Counseling Center.
› Swedish Medical Center ~ Mental Health SpecialistI worked for 4 years as a Mental Health Specialist in Swedish's voluntary, psychiatric inpatient unit, treating and working with both young and old struggling with severe mental illness.
› Olive Crest ~ Case Manager
I have also worked as a Case Manager at Olive Crest, a foster and adoption agency in Bellevue, WA, helping children make a smooth transition into new foster homes. This included interviewing and preparing prospective foster families for the unique work of foster care, providing mental health therapy for the children when needed, and managing the needs of both children and parents throughout the foster placement.

Currently, I am a Family Advocate at Lake Forest Park Elementary School. My work at the school includes assisting families and students with basic needs, parenting skills, conflict resolution, and individual therapy.

I am contracted by the state to assist at-risk families in their homes with basic communication and life skills.
